Highlight
I led the end-to-end design for Rabbit Mart's grocery picker app—a critical tool for a client's 20-minute delivery service in Egypt. With just a week and a half to deliver, I transformed their requirements into an intuitive interface balancing operational needs with usability.
Working closely with 5 engineers, I guided the project from initial requirements to functional prototypes. The MVP delivered three essential workflows—Login, Picking, and Receiving—giving store staff the tools to fulfill orders efficiently.
This MVP contributed to Rabbit Mart securing $11 million in pre-seed funding.
Overview
The Rabbit Picker app streamlines order management for grocery workers supporting Rabbit Mart's 20-minute delivery promise in Egypt. Our team's challenge was developing a functional, bilingual MVP under strict time constraints.
The app needed to deliver three essential workflows:
Login: Secure authentication for store staff
Picking: Initiating collection of items when orders arrive
Receiving: Processing incoming inventory
Within the client's strict 300-hour development timeline, I delivered the design specifications in just one week, providing clear guidance for our five-person engineering team while ensuring the solution met both technical and user requirements.
What I Did
I took a systematic approach to deliver high-quality designs within our tight timeline:
Identified 4 main user tasks and information needs for efficient order fulfillment
Collaborated with engineering to clarify technical constraints and prioritize features within our timeframe
Transformed requirements into wireframes and functional prototypes for validation and development handoff
Results & Impacts
Our team delivered the functional picker app within the tight timeline, helping Rabbit Mart secure $11 million in funding in 2021 as reported by Business Insider Africa. The app became a critical operational tool supporting their rapid expansion.
MVP Overview

1/3 Understanding Picker Needs
This successful outcome resulted from a methodical design process. Firstly, I gained insights into the grocery picker role through client meetings and analyzed their workflows, creating a persona to guide my design decisions.

2/3 Aligning Requirements
I facilitated collaboration between business and development teams to identify and prioritize key features:
Order Scanning: Barcode functionality for item confirmation and status updates
Inventory Management: Streamlined receiving process with shortage reporting
Performance Tracking: Order history and metrics to monitor productivity
Store Connection: Automated authentication through WiFi binding

I documented these workflows in diagrams for team review, ensuring technical feasibility.

3/3 Rapid Design MVP
Working with Rabbit Mart's style guide, I designed a straightforward interface using:
Simple grid layouts for efficient scanning
Color coding for status indication
Clear calls-to-action for time-sensitive operations
I delivered interactive prototypes ahead of schedule, giving engineering more development time as our deadline approached. This allowed for overlapping workflows and helped us meet the challenging 300-hour timeline.
My Learnings
As the sole designer working with engineering on this rapid-delivery project, I gained valuable experience in:
Prioritization Under Pressure: Learned to quickly identify and focus on MVP-critical features when working within extremely tight timelines
Technical Partnership: Developed skills in balancing user needs with technical feasibility through close collaboration with engineers
End-to-End Ownership: Took responsibility for the complete design process from requirements to implementation, driving product success beyond UI deliverables
